The phonon frequency distribution and the specific heat of α‐iron is determined using DE LAUNAY'S model. The unit cell of phase space is divided into 10 × 10 × 10 parts, the calculations being conifed to the first Brillouin‐Zone. A new method for evaluating specific heats at low temperatures, by using a Debye sphere, is discussed. The agreement between the experimental and calculated heat capacities is reasonably good.
