On the basis of KANE 'S theory of the shape of the conduction band in InSb the relation between the diffusion coefficient and mobility of electrons is found. It is shown that for partial or strong degeneration of the electron gas the non‐parabolic shape of a band has a strong influence on this relation. For a completely non‐degenerate electron gas the classical Einstein relation is found to hold regardless of the band structure.
