Hafnium Carbide Nanowires Single‐crystalline hafnium carbide (HfC) nanowires are prepared by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and their growth morphology as well as electric field‐induced emission of electrons is investigated. A high field enhancement factor of 6 × 10 6 m −1 is obtained from a HfC nanowire due to its unique strucutre, indicating great performance as a potential material for cold field‐emission applications. More details can be found in article number 27 by Ta‐Wei Chiu, Jie Tang, and co‐workers.
