The photoluminescent properties of allylamine terminated silicon nanocrystals (Si‐NCs) are investigated. Chloride surface terminated Si‐NCs of different sizes react with allylamine yielding NCs that exhibit size independent blue luminescent NCs. NCs were characterized using X‐ray diffraction, Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy, and dynamic light scattering. Reaction scheme summarizing surface modification approach used for the present study.
