Highly ordered arrays of BaTiO 3 nanostructures were synthesized by the hydrothermal method using TiO 2 nanotube arrays as templates. The synthesis yields apparent preferred orientation nanostructures with a perovskite structure. The pristine nanostructures are high purity and contain some degree of hydroxyl group or absorbed oxygen. Ferroelectric domains are present at the nanostructures, and typical hysteresis loops with remanent polarization and coercive field are 8.93 µC cm 2 and 53 kV/cm, respectively.
