An analytic expression is derived in the real space representation for the demagnetizing factors of long stripes and finite dots of rectangular cross section. The result depends on the arrangement in corresponding superlattices of nanoparticles. The influence of the demagnetizing factors on dynamical properties of nanoparticle arrays is discussed.
