We developed a new method for fabrication of oxide laser ceramics. Its prospects were conclusively confirmed by efficient lasing at two wavelengths ≈1064 nm ( 4 F 3/2 → 4 I 11/2 ) and ≈946 nm ( 4 F 3/2 → 4 I 9/2 ) of Nd 3+ ions in Y 3 Al 5 O 12 ceramics with laser‐diode pumping.
