The photoluminescence (PL), thermostimulated luminescence (TSL) and optical stimulated luminescence (OSL) properties of a cerium and samarium codoped strontium sulfide (SrS:Ce,Sm) used in OSL imaging devices are studied after UV or X‐ray irradiation. A correlation is made between TSL and OSL results, showing a strong thermal and optical fading at room temperature, implying a significant instability of the OSL signal.
