Photo‐thermal ionization spectroscopy has been applied for investigation of hydrogenated diamond. All investigated films have shown presence of B after hydrogenation though no PTIS could be measured when they were oxidized. The presence of shallow levels with energy around 100 meV has been found in all hydrogenated samples at temperatures lower than 120–77 K depending on the sample. The photocurrent spectrum due to these shallow levels consists of features similar to two‐phonon absorption in diamond. (© 2005 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
