We report on the first observation of χ (3) ‐nonlinear lasing effects – efficient high‐order stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) in LiH 2 C 6 H 4 SO 3 · H 2 O and α‐Ca(HCOO) 2 single crys‐ tals. We classify these materials as promising SRS‐media for Raman laser converters with many large frequency shifts. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
