The birefringence and optical activity of La 3 Ga 5 SiO 14 crystal were studied by interferometry of polarized light. The corresponding characteristic parameters were calculated from the transmittance spectra with different orientational configuration between parallel polarisers. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
