Over recent years there has been a significant number of new drugs launched for the management of diabetes. While this is good news for patients with the condition it has the potential to put significant pressure on the drugs bill. In this Expert Panel Discussion the participants discuss the rising cost of diabetes management and the impact of new drugs. In particular they discuss the NICE estimates for the cost of implementation of recent guidance on use of new drugs and how this guidance can be implemented most cost‐effectively.
