An F 2 screen identified a highly Vip3A‐resistant population of Spodoptera frugiperda ; the Vip3A resistance was monogenic, autosomal and recessive, and conferred no cross‐resistance to Cry1F, Cry2Ab2 or Cry2Ae proteins.
