Over the last several decades, AIChE has taken a leadership role in advancing the technology and management of chemical reactivity hazards. This paper describes the successes of recent AIChE activities and introduces a current effort to bring practical understanding and application of these concepts both to smaller businesses and to businesses that do not manufacture chemicals but nonetheless may have chemical reactivity hazards to manage. © 2006 American Institute of Chemical Engineers Process Saf Prog, 2006
