Obverse Cover : The cover image has been created for this special issue by Maya Topf, Sony Malhotra, and Andriy Kryshtafovych. The highlight of CASP13 experiment is the successful use of deep learning techniques for predicting inter‐residue contacts and three‐dimensional protein structures. The cover figure features five successfully modeled CASP13 targets ‐ T0990 (a non‐structural protein 1 of bluetongue virus), two subunits of H0968 complex (a contact‐dependent growth inhibition toxin ‐ immunity complex), T1020 (a guard cell S‐type anion channel SLAC1) and T0984 (a TPC2 channel in the apo state). The first three targets (T0990, T0968s1 and T0968s2) were solved with X‐ray technique and their best models are shown in superposition with the experimental structures. Two other targets, T0984 and T1020, were solved by cryo‐electron microscopy and are shown in their density. The increased number of the cryo‐EM targets is another important development in CASP.
