A description of equations for n ‐point functions is presented in which notions from theoretical mechanics like generalized coordinates, constraints, systems released from constraints etc. are used. The case of strong interaction is described by the harmonic balance method and heuristic arguments are given concerning how to extend it for other interactions. Consistent use of projectors has significantly simplified the equations and formulas derived.
