This paper presents an application of the techniques of the symplectic geometry for the computation of the parallel electromagnetic fields (e.m.f.) invariant under connected subgroups of the Poincaré group. Other cases of orthogonal e.m.f.'s that cannot be obtained by these symplectic methods have also been computed. The work has been carried out in a systematic way and we have studied the invariant e.m.f.'s for all the Poincaré subgroups whose dimension is four, five or six.
