Higher spin holography and string states on AdS 5 × S 5

We review the recent proposal for the full string spectrum on AdS 5 × S 5 at the higher spin symmetry enhancement point and its agreement with the free SYM spectrum. The spectrum exhibits a hidden symmetry structure larger than expected, with bosonic subgroup SO (10,2) and thirty‐two supercharges. A similar correspondence is found between the spectra on warped AdS d + 1 ×S 9− d compactifications and d ‐dimensional SYM theories.
