We consider the equations describing the local covariant unstable particle field operator as the functional of stable asymptotic decay products. In such a framework, we present two generalizations of the Yang‐Feldman equation, which can be used for the description of unstable particles. In order to introduce a complex mass parameter, we discuss the generalizations of mass renormalization procedure. Also we consider briefly the description using fields with continuous spectrum of asymptotic masses.
