The back cover picture shows the composition of a new cleaner emulsion explosive and its possible application in the mine blasting field as well as in the explosive welding area. Immediate and time‐related experiments of our research show that this new cleaner emulsion explosive (HGM‐sensitized) which uses common clay as the inert additive to weaken its detonation performance, rather than using traditional defective additives (i.e, the industrial table salts, sifted gravels or various wasted oils), has three primary advantages, namely, the ability to easily adjust various detonation properties to desired values (through different content of additives or through storage), decrease the overall cost of civil explosive products, and minimize environmental pollution during use. Details are discussed in the article by H. Ma et al. on page 789 ff.
