The cover picture shows an aerial view of an open pit diamond mine. Superimposed is a picture showing the progression of the combustion wave inside a metal tube as recorded by an IR camera and another one obtained by computer modelling. The Figure shows the adiabatic flame temperature and the expected product spectrum predicted by thermodynamic simulations for the reaction of manganese fuel (Mn) with the oxidiser antimony trioxide (Sb 2 O 3 ).
