The cover picture shows how wide ranging the subject area is for it covers management of dumped munitions on both sea and land. The pictures also reflect the environmental effect of materials in use, from gun systems to rockets and pyrotechnics and smokes, as well as the impact of explosives. Management of contamination is therefore illustrated diagrammatically summarising the movement and fate of materials when used. The tools used for UXO disposal are also illustrated.
