Results are presented of measurements of the critical diameter and the detonation velocity of aluminium sensitized slurry explosives containing various organic fuels. The particular organic components differ with regard to solubility in water and oxygen balance. A physicochemical interpretation of the obtained results is advanced, based on the results of measurements of the detonation parameters and the analysis of the liquid phase of the tested explosive mixtures.
