While being part of a supportive gaming community has many benefits, members of marginalized groups struggle to feel welcome in these spaces. Librarians and other information professionals are particularly experienced with serving marginalized groups and are already supporting the development of gaming communities within online and offline spaces. Increasingly, however, game‐play spaces are online‐offline hybrid communities utilizing both in‐person physical resources and information and communication technologies. In this virtual poster, we propose future research on the unique combinations of social and technical aspects within hybrid gaming communities, with the goal of allowing information professionals to better foster inclusive communities.
