In recent progress in information behavior research, people have been at the center of investigations. Thomas Wilson's popular general model of information behavior has evolved from the growing realization that information behavior occurs across many contexts. The current proposal suggests adding the influence of impacts to Wilson's general model of information processing and use. By accounting for past experiences with information sources, information scientists are better able to tackle society's grand challenges.
