Symptoms (hemoptysis, recurrent pulmonary infections), diasnostic work‐up (roentgenology, bronchoscopy with biopsy), and treatment (surgical resection of a bronchial carcinoid tumor in a 12 year old girl) are discussed. Special attention was paid to the tumor histochemistry, showing serotonin containing granules. Levels of circulating hormones and vasoactive agents, including serotonin, were within normal limits.
