Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is characterized by fulminant respiratory failure due to noncardiac pulmonary edema. This can be triggered by a heterogeneous group of diseases. We report an unusual case of an infant who developed severe ARDS in association with a severe cyanotic attack due to tetralogy of Fallot. Pediatr Pulmonol. 2001; 32:406–407. © 2001 Wiley‐Liss, Inc.
