A rapid and cost‐effective protocol for the fabrication of TiO 2 nanoparticles decorated with thin carbon coatings , which are derived from the calcination of a low‐cost, eco‐friendly, and readily available carbohydrate species, is established. The method is used to improve the performance of dye‐sensitized solar cells.
