Rhododendron flowers in full bloom as researchers navigate the trail to Gosainkunda Lake in Langtang National Park, Nepal. Rhododendron forests provide a range of ecosystem services in Nepal, however, these plants are under threat from overexploitation and climate change. Please see Ollerton et al’s article ‘Interactions between birds and flowers of Rhododendron spp., and their implications for mountain communities in Nepal’ in this issue, which suggests a vital role for pollinating birds in ensuring the long‐term survival of Rhododendron populations.
