The conventional synthesis of heterogeneous catalysts usually is a complex and time‐consuming process. PECVD proves to be a promising technique for a one‐step synthesis of heterogeneous catalysts. In the present paper, the production efficiency for hybrid silica‐based powders is optimized using a DoE approach. Afterwards, a set of hybrid silica‐based metal catalysts are produced using the optimized reaction conditions. The synthesized catalysts are evaluated for their catalytic properties (isomerization of glucose to fructose) and are characterized by several physicochemical characterization methods.
