On page 2275 (DOI: 10.1002/polb.24115 ), Tomoyasu Hirai and colleagues investigate the effect of molecular weight on the molecular aggregation structure of polymers bearing a pendant perylenediimide (PDI) side chain, designated PAc12PDI, using synchrotron transmission and grazing incidence wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction measurements. It was found that depending on molecular weight, either the main chain axis or the side chain axis behaves as the longitudinal axis and the specific orientation of microcrystalline structures could be controlled by varying the length of the main chain axis with respect to the PDI side chain.
