On page 2151 (DOI: 10.1002/polb.24111 ) Oleksandr Mykhaylyk and colleagues propose a new mechano‐optical rheological technique based on a combination of rotational rheometer and reflection polariscope for simultaneous rheology and structural characterization of polymeric liquids, as well as soft matter materials. Representative polarized light images (PLIs) of polyethylene melt taken at the shearing start‐up using different optical settings such as a plain reflection polariscope with a white light (bottom), a circular reflection polariscope with a monochromatic light (middle) and a plain reflection polariscope with a monochromatic light (top) are shown.
