On page 1926, Sabrina Zaccaria and colleagues propose a strategy for preparing antimicrobial materials to be used in preventing infections that could cause biomedical device failure. The materials are prepared by mixing‐and‐matching ureido‐pyrimidinone (UPy) based supramolecular polymers with antimicrobial peptides modified with the same UPy‐moiety. The cover image shows healthy renal epithelial cells on an antimicrobial supramolecular biomaterial. This material was functionalized with antimicrobial peptide additives using supramolecular chemistry. The actin cytoskeleton and shape of the cells indicate a healthy phenotype, which shows that in addition to displaying antimicrobial activity, the material is also able to attract eukaryotic cells.
