On page 3683 (DOI: 10.1002/pola.28261 ) Tang and Tsarevsky describe radical copolymerizations of cyanoacrylates with functional, alkyl halide‐containing, methacrylates, yielding reactive copolymers, useful for subsequent post‐polymerization modifications. When the comonomers are polymerized in the presence of a disulfide‐containing crosslinker and an efficient chain transfer agent, tetrabromomethane, highly branched cyanoacrylate‐based copolymers are formed, which contain reductively degradable (and potentially biodegradable) disulfide links at the branching points as well as multiple chain end alkyl bromide groups originating fromthe transfer agent.
