Youhai Yu and colleagues, in their article on page 1942, synthesize a novel bisbenzimidazole based diamine. The derived polyimides exhibit a lower coefficient of thermal expansion and water absorption than traditional PABZ based polyimide, which is considered to be the result of the synergistic effect of intermolecular and intramolecular hydrogen bonding.
