Scientists from the USA, Japan, and the UK study the complex diffusion of polymer chains at an interface of polymer blends using an atomistic model, in order to extend additive manufacturing capabilities in space. The J‐OCTA image from Dmitry G. Luchinsky and colleagues for their article on page 2051 shows molecular dynamics snapshots of the polyetherimide (bright colors) and polycarbonate (blended colors) on two different sides of the interface at the initial time and after 120 ns of welding.
