The magnitude ρx(ρ nuc ) is shown to decrease with increase in the extent of bond making estimated by the kinetic isotope effect for the reactions of Y‐benzoyl chlorides with anilines, XC 6 H 4 NH 2 , in acetonitrile at 25·0°C.
