Abstract 2‐Nitrobenzoyl chlorde was reacted with superoxide in acetonitrile to form 1 2‐nitrobenzoylperoxy radical intermediate which showed a stronger oxidizing ability than that from superoxide, as confirmed by ESR spin trapping studies.
