A new biphenol namely, 3‐pentadecyl 4,4'‐biphenol, was synthesized starting from 3‐pentadecyl phenol and was polycondensed with activated aromatic difluorides to obtain film‐forming poly(arylene ether)s possessing a wide processing window.
