Novel heat‐resistant N‐substitutedpoly(benzimidazole imide)s ( PBIIs ) with good solubility were synthesized via a C‐N coupling reaction. The thermal behavior in air of the PBIIs polymers suggests that they can be considered as a new class of high‐performance polyimides.
