Two‐component interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) systems composed from polyurethane isocyanurate and polyurethane anionomer were prepared by simultaneous polymerization and crosslinking in solution. Specific attractive forces that occurred among various networks helped to make them compatible and led to the formation of true homogeneous topologically interpenetrating polymer networks. These ionomer IPNs were characterized by means of stress‐strain properties, hardness, thermogravimetric analysis, density and conductivity. The morphology of the IPNs was studied by thermomechanical analysis and dynamic mechanical analysis.
