The growing number of cyber‐attacks together with the complexities of cyber risk management are driving the development of quantum‐based data security solutions. In this article, we look at the applications, challenges, and future business opportunities in the field of quantum key distribution, which is emerging as a promising solution to ensure highly secure data transfer, particularly in the telecom and finance sectors.
