Evosys Laser GmbH is developing a new method for laser welding of polymers, so‐called ‘advanced quasi‐simultaneous welding’ (AQW). The patented technique combines two different processing wavelengths with the method of quasi‐simultaneous welding in order to achieve a significant reduction of welding time and enhanced weld seam quality. By the use of differing wavelengths – alternated in a certain time pattern – it is possible to improve and better control the deposition of specific amounts of energy into each item to be joined.
