The use of Lidar sensors for autonomous vehicles is a proven technology that will be designed into both current and coming generations of cars for a safer and more relaxed driving experience. To enable high‐precision detection of distances from the static and dynamic environment surrounding the cars, the laser beam must be shaped into a light field with a defined field of view. With the new glass diffuser technology from Limo, hot spot‐free light shaping and large illumination fields are combined to fully cover the 360° view with only four lidar systems while allowing operation in even the toughest environmental conditions.
