The geometric parameter method proposed earlier by Kozicki and coworkers for prediction of pressure losses of non‐Newtonian fluids flowing in ducts of arbitrary cross‐section is shown to be applicable for polymer melt flow through complex dies. Good agreement is obtained between the predicted and the published theoretical and experimental results for polystyrene and polypropylene melts flowing in rectangular and trapezoidal dies. The method is simple to use and requires only the knowledge of two geometric parameters to characterize the flow geometry.
