The morphology of ultraoriented polyethylene fibers was investigated by means of small‐angle x‐ray scattering and high‐resolution line‐broadening analysis of x‐ray and electron‐diffraction profiles. The comparative consideration of the experimentally‐measured crystal thickness and long period along the c direction allowed the calculation of the fraction of extended‐chain crystals for a simple three‐phase model. The calculations were carried out with the unknown length of the extended‐chain crystals as a variable parameter.
