A detailed study of the physical properties of alternating block copolymers of polydimethyl siloxane and bisphenol‐A polycarbonate is presented. The results suggest that the mechanical and optical properties of such materials are dependent upon the presence of associated regions as well as the nature of the chain between such regions. Dielectric, infrared, and DSC data as well as the stress and birefringence strain behavior are presented.
