Additives to polymer materials allow to obtain a wide range of functional properties. The improvement of wear and durability of plastics is achieved by the use of powder or fibrous fillers and complex modifications of structure. The aim of the work was to examine the physical, mechanical and tribological properties of modified polyacetal. As a modifiers various types of silicon, thermoplastic polyurethane and aramid fiber were used. The addition of above mentioned additives reduces the coefficient of friction and the wear rate in relation to pure polyoxymethylene, moreover used additives increase the strength properties. Studies have shown that the addition of filler allows to provide excellent tribological properties while maintaining high strength properties. POLYM. ENG.
