The influence of γ irradiation on the dielectric and physicochemical properties of polyethylene‐octene elastomer (POE) containing 120 phr aluminum hydroxide (Al(OH) 3 ) as fillers has been investigated. The dielectric properties of the γ‐irradiated POE highly filled with Al(OH) 3 have been measured over a wide range of frequencies (70 kHz–3 MHz). It was found that γ irradiation strongly influences the dielectric properties of the POE composite in the dose range 0–250 kGy. POLYM. ENG.
