What's Already Known About This Topic? Risk for an adverse outcome is increased in prolonged pregnancies. Nulliparity and oligohydramnios are independent risk factors for adverse outcome in prolonged pregnancies. What Does This Study Add? Comprehensive Doppler assessments of placental and fetal central and peripheral hemodynamics prior to the induction of labor do not differ in prolonged pregnancies with favorable and unfavorable outcomes, indicating that their value is limited in the intermittent fetal surveillance and in the prediction of adverse outcomes in prolonged pregnancies.
